What goes on a bill without GST
A bill with no tax on it needs very little, and all of it is on this one:
- Who it is from: your shop’s name, address and mobile number.
- Who it is for: the customer’s name, or “Cash” for a counter sale.
- A number and a date, so both of you can refer to it later.
- What was sold: the item, how many, the unit, the rate and the amount.
- The total, in figures and in words.
There are no GSTIN, HSN, CGST or SGST columns, because nothing on the bill needs them.
Bill, estimate or cash memo
- Bill: for goods the customer has taken, paid for or not.
- Estimate: a price you are quoting before the sale. It is not a demand for payment.
- Cash memo: for a sale paid in cash on the spot.
The buttons at the top only change the word printed on the sheet.
Your details stay on your device
This page does not send the bill anywhere and there is no account behind it. Your shop’s name, address and mobile are remembered in this browser so you do not retype them; the customer and the items are not kept at all. Close the page and that bill exists only on the paper or the PDF you made.
If you make more than a few bills a day
A page like this cannot remember that Suresh still owes you for last Tuesday. FastBilling can: every bill is saved against the party, the balance carries forward by itself, and the same screen takes the payment when it comes.
- Bill numbers that count up on their own.
- Items and rates you pick from a list instead of typing.
- Each party’s balance, in plain words: to receive, or to pay.
- Bills sent as a link, with a UPI QR for paying.
