Receipts and payments
Money received from a party, or paid to one, without a bill.
Steps
- Open Receipt for money coming in, or Payment for money going out.
- Check the date and choose the party. What they owe is shown beside the amount.
- Enter the amount. Save becomes available once a party and an amount are both in.
- Choose where the money went: Cash, or one of your bank accounts.
- For a bank payment you can add a reference, such as the UPI number. Press Save.
Send a receipt to the customer
- Open Day Book and press the receipt. It opens that receipt.
- Press Share (Share receipt on the phone) and create the link.
- Copy the link, or press WhatsApp to open a message to the party with the link in it. They can open it without signing in.
Good to know
- A receipt lowers what the party owes you. A payment lowers what you owe them.
- Add your bank accounts under Bank Accounts so they appear as choices here.
- Only a receipt can be shared, not a payment.
- A receipt link shows the amount, the date and "Cash" or "Bank". It never shows the name of your bank account or the party's balance.
- Withdraw link stops a link working if it reached the wrong person.
- A receipt taken on a bill shows which bill it is against, and its party cannot be changed.
